Parish Vision and Mission
Bardon Anglican Church has a strong charismatic tradition. When you visit with us you can expect to encounter God’s spirit moving among the people. The parish motto formed many years ago and still appropriate today is “SET FREE TO SERVE: Making Disciples, Making Differences”. It expresses our vision to be a Christian community characterised by:
Mission Statement [What we are called to do]: To build a passionate, serving community, set free to go and make disciples who will make a difference in the world.
Vision Statement [Who we want to become]: To be a faithful, passionate and adventurous church committed to reaching out to communities locally and worldwide with the love of Christ, the hope of the world.
We are Christians who believe in the sovereignty of God, the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit; Anglicans who are part of the Diocese of Brisbane, Province of Queensland and the Anglican Church of Australia, having associations with Anglicans throughout the world.
We express our life together as:
- Charismatics who believe in the working of the Power of God for Salvation, Healing and Worship;
- Evangelicals who believe in the uniqueness of the Word of God, written and incarnate, to be The Way, The Truth and The Life for all people.
- Catholics who believe in the importance of Episcopal authority as seen in the three-fold ministry of Bishops, Priests and Deacons and exercised through the Sacraments of the Church.
- We are committed to the exercising of Lay Ministry and to fulfilling the Vision God has given to us.
